40 Years of Quality
KL Jack’s commitment to providing high quality nuts and bolts first began during its founding in 1979. Just three years later, the veteran- and family-owned company set up its headquarters in Portland, Maine and eventually opened it's first branch office in Auburn, ME. It was during these formative years that KL Jack established its reputation as a business that never took shortcuts and made sure to always offer the best hardware on the market. This reputation led to continuous growth over the next nine years, and soon it was time to move across town to a new 20,000 sq. ft. facility.
From here, the KL Jack name continued to expand throughout the rest of New England. In 1994, the company expanded across state lines into Manchester, NH and three years later, opened another outpost in Bangor, ME. While other companies may have been concerned about bottom lines and stock performance, KL Jack grew because of its commitment to deliver high-quality fasteners and products, which eventually led to its acquisitions of Reliable Fasteners and Chemfast Inc. in 2002.
Managing a stock of over 30,000,000 pieces of fasteners is no small feat, which is why the company updated its software system in 2006 to improve efficiency. The following year, KL Jack opened a 15,000 sq. ft. packaging and bulk inventory warehouse in Gorham, ME to help manage the growing inventory, along with another branch in Gardiner, ME.
These investments have only led to stronger business performance in the current decade. In 2011, KL Jack was able to achieve a 97 percent order fill rate. The company currently employs an autobag packaging system, and its MyBinStock ordering system makes the purchasing process even faster and easier for customers. While a lot has changed since KL Jack’s founding in 1979, its commitment to quality has not, which is why it has established itself as one of the premier industrial fastener and supply companies in New England.
