ASTM A563 Grade A Low Carbon Steel finished full pattern coarse thread hex nuts for general purpose fastening applications. Often referred to as "Grade 2" hex nuts, they are used with Grade 2 or A307 Gr.A steel Carriage and Hex bolts, Low carbon steel threaded rod and other applications that do not require a heat treated fastener. Plain finish nuts offer no additional protection from corrosion and are best used in applications where rust and corrosion are unlikely or not a concern. These nuts are also available in a Zinc Chromate or a Hot Dip Galvanized coating for use in applications requiring additional corrosion resistance.
Meets the dimensional standards of ASME B18.2.2, and the mechanical properties of ASTM A563 Grade A. Thread fit meets the dimensional requirements of ASME B1.1, UNC, Class 2B.
