Beveled washers are intended for American Standard beams and channels to compensate for lack of parallelism on tapered Beam flanges that have a slope on the inside flange surface. Square Beveled washers possess a slope of 2:12 and are used in the bolting of American Standard Beams with tapered flanges as they conform to the 2" in 12" beam contour. Square beveled washers can also used for leveling and shimming. Standard Bevel Washers are manufactured of malleable cast iron and are available with either a plain oily finish or with a Hot Dip Galvanized Coating.
Hardened steel bevel washers meeting the ASTM F436 specification are also available and are typically meant for use with ASTM F3125 Structural Bolts in structural applications.
