Lifting Eye Bolts are a threaded fastener intended for use in lifting. They have a large shouldered eye and a fully threaded shank. It is important that Lifting Eye Bolts are properly installed and fully seated so that the shoulder’s contact face is flush against the lifting surface to limit any transverse loads on the shank of the eye bolt. Straight (Vertical) load values are based on a safety design factor of 5 to 1. Any angled loading of the Lifting Eye will greatly reduce it’s load capacity and is not recommended.
