DOT Air Brake Push-To-Connect Fittings with a 360° Swivel capability allow an instant connection of the properly sized nylon air brake tubing to the fitting simply by pushing the tube into the fitting. The 360° swivel function allows for free movement of the fitting to prevent kinks in the tubing after installation. Tubing size for a fitting refers to the outside diameter, (O.D.) measurement of the nylon tubing. Push-to-Connect fittings are also called P2C or Push-In fttings. Among the many advantages of a Push-to-Connect fitting over conventional Compression fittings are the following:
- Quick Connect Design: Fast assembly with no tools required. Simply push tubing in.
- Time Savings: Saves assembly time compared to standard compression fittings. No loose parts to handle.
- Swivel fittings rotate 360° as needed to allow movement in the system and to prevent kinking.
- Fast Disconnect: Hold the release collar with two fingers and pull out tube. No tools required.
- Reusable: Can be connected and disconnected several times.
- Reliable sealing: When using properly sized O.D. Nylon Tubing a full-seal is achieved.
- Secure Tube Retention. Pulling on tubing without releasing the collar only serves to tighten the connection.
- Leak-Free: Teflon pipe sealant pre-applied to male pipe threads (MPT).
- Full flow – No interference as the fittings seal on outside diameter of the tubing
DOT Push-to-Connect Fittings are constructed with an all brass captive eyelet which allows for maximum flow. Push to Connect fittings feature an internal O-Ring manufactured from Buna-N which grips the installed tubing and holds it in place. The brass captive eyelet with extended length is floating and has a machined top end radius for easy installation of tubing. All male threads have a pre-applied Teflon based pipe sealant to provide for easy assembly and a leak proof seal. They have a working temperature range from -40° to 200° F and a working pressure range from vacuum to 150 PSI. They meet D.O.T. FMVSS 571.106 SAE J1131 standard for air brake systems.
