They are used to prevent damage to the masonry hammer bit, which cannot cut through a metal rebar and will be damaged if the hammer bit is used when rebar is encountered. Once embedded rebar has been successfully cut with the rebar cutter bit immediately remove the rebar cutter bit and continue drilling the hole using your carbide masonry hammer drill bit. Relton rebar cutter bits must only be used on the Rotary Only setting on the drill motor.
