The new Impacto Midcleat Ice Stabilizing Cleats are a simple, yet very effective Ice Traction System. Ideal for workers who frequently move from outdoors to indoors since the cleat can be quickly and easily flipped to the top of the boot to prevent slipping or marking floors.
KL Jack has had success offering these to the paper mills, forestry services and construction firms that work outside during the icy months. We now stock these at all of our branch locations and are happy that we added this new item to our winter safety product offerings for 2020-21.
The reason why these MIDCLEAT-100-00 are so useful is because they allow workers to quickly rotate the strap from placing the cleats under their boots (when outside) to on top of their boots when they move indoors. Once indoors you don't want to mark up the floors or cause yourself to fall when the cleats move across the tile, hardwood or concrete floors causing a slipping hazard indoors. Add in the bright High Visibility Orange Reflective Straps and you have yourself one of the easiest and most effective foot safety item on the market.
Compare these to the full boot ice cleats that require the worker to remove a large rubber cleat system that hooks over the toe of the boot and stretches back over the heel of the boot. These can be difficult to put on depending on the size of the workers foot and they often fall off the heel if not sized correctly. For workers who often transition from inside to outside throughout the day, they prefer the Midcleat strap over the full boot rubber cleats.
