A hose fitting is a device for connecting two lengths of hose together. In most cases, a hose fitting is a "quick connect" that allows for easy connection and disconnection.  A hose fitting may include a coupling nut to tighten the hose ends together.  A hose fitting may also be a "quick release" which has a y-shape piece that fits into a "+" symbol on each end of the hose to allow for easy disconnection.
